Round 10.30am, Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing and mortar shelling focusing on ahead Indian Military posts and civilian areas alongside the LoC in Poonch’s Mankote sector. “In retaliatory fireplace by Indian troops, one Pakistani soldier was killed in Pakistan’s Bhimber locality whereas 5 of their troopers had been injured in Pakistan’s Poonch and one every in Hajipir, Padhar and Rakh Chikri sectors,” a supply mentioned.

There was a spurt in ceasefire violations by Pakistan within the two frontier districts of Rajouri and Poonch, through which 5 troopers and 4 civilians have misplaced their lives since June. 4 troopers had been killed in Rajouri district — Havildar Sambur Gurung on July 10 and Havildar Dipak Karki on June 22 in Nowshera sector; Naik Gurcharan Singh on June 10 in Manjakote sector; and Havildar Mathiazhagan P on June four in Sunderbani sector — whereas one other, Sepoy Lungambui Abonmei was killed in Poonch’s Kirni sector on June 13. All 4 civilian deaths had been reported from Poonch district — a 60-year-old lady was killed on July eight and three of a household, a pair and their teenage son, had been killed on July 17.
