KOCHI: Senior IAS officer, and former principal secretary to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, M Sivasankar, was questioned by the Nationwide Investigation Company (NIA) for nearly 9 hours on Monday over the gold smuggling racket that has forged a shadow on […]
Sivasankar, who was questioned from 10am to 7pm on the NIA workplace, has been requested to look once more earlier than the company on Tuesday. NIA sleuths have been tight-lipped on the extent of Sivasankar’s involvement within the case, although authorized and political observers say that the size of the questioning would imply that the company did have some free ends to tie up relating to the IAS officer’s connections to Swapna Suresh and among the different predominant accused.
S Rajeev, Sivasankar’s lawyer, instructed reporters that you will need to word that Sivasankar’s identify has thus far not been talked about in any official doc associated to the case. “He was by no means related to the gold smuggling incident. The investigating company has to resolve on whether or not to make him a witness or not. Questioning is for readability,” he mentioned.
